First of all: Mods please don't lock this thread because I'm not asking how to fix my 360.

Anyway. Many use the towel trick to fix their 360's and give it a short life but have you EVER wondered what exactly the towel trick does to the GPU? Anybody know what it does? Thanks in advance

It just damages the system even more. Hot + hotter = bad for your 360.

But not for long, and if you just send it in, you'll get to be playing it a lot faster than you would if the towel trick stops working.

If he has to keep doing it, then it clearly isn't working well

The towel trick heats the console up to a dangerous level and is as likely to fry the rest of the components as fix anything. Considering how all current 360s are still under warranty for the RROD (unless you broke the warranty) there is no reason why someone should be trying this.

Yes it works to perfection no frying components if you do it right it trips the chips into overdrive and works like you mom.

from what i read that the brackets of the chipboard ( motherboard ) are on a way so that its straining on a certain part of the board, and fianly after a while the 1 of the 2 small solders which are in a location i dont actualy no :P will break, and what it does when over heating is that it will mealt the solder back together, but theres a big chance it will go wrong because if u melt the solder and it melts and touches the second line ( which is next to it ) you may as well say your screwed. or as others have stated that it may fry the other components.

Mom jokes haven't been funny or the "cool" thing to use in around 8 years if not longer.
