it depends on the game and character, like if its a badass looking character it go tps, and i recommend Dark Sector, its not just a shooter u have this glaive ninja star thing, its very underrated but i liked it alot
Idk the most fun I've had online was with Socom II for the PS2 and that was third person - however I've played many other TPS (like GoW) and things didn't work out so well so I guess overall I like FPS more.
I love most TPS games. Watching your toon gives you a better feeling of its character. Marcus is a good example, looking at him yelling while he stares at his companions is priceless is my opinion.
I personally prefer TPS. I don't have a specific reason other than I think it is cool to watch your character actually do the things you tell them to. For instance, GRAW 2 had some awesome, awesome soldier animations that were fun to watch. You don't get that with FPS.
For me, it depends on the type of shooter. If it's fast-paced, run-and-gun shooting, than I like the first-person perspective. But, if it's a slow-paced, tactical, strategy/shooter hybrid, I prefer the third-person perspective.
i say both. and gears 2 is amazing and damnation and red faction: guerilla look pretty interesting if u wanna take a look, they come out next month. and just sayin a good fps would be shadowrun, its so addictive and fun.
It depends on the type of game and genre. For multiplayer and competition, I prefer FPS hands-down. But for stories, I generally prefer TPS as they help get you in more involved in the character
:) that happens sometimes to me too playing gears 2 "why cant dom hold aggro of the locusts" but for me i like first person better but not necessarily shooters,i like it when they make games with different styles like the stealth in riddick and the platforming style in mirror's edge
