Just wondering if I should trade my current Xbox 360 (Jasper Unit) with a 250 gig hard drive for one of the new redesigned ones. Those systems look really cool and I hear they are pretty sweet. I like the whole WiFi aspect because I would like to play games in my bedroom but I don't want to have to run a 50 ft ethernet cable to do it. To be honest, I really don't like the loud humming noise that my current model makes either. I find it can be distracting at times. Personally I love the look of the new unit and it will be Kinect ready without any extra hookups so thats a bonus.

If my current model was really old, this would be a no brainer but problem is I just traded my Wii and some games back in March to get it. I would just like to know from you guys if you would hang on to the one you have or splurge on the newer model. I am low on funds so I would have to trade my current model to do it.

Suggestions welcome!

Keep what you have until it doesn't work. Getting people to upgrade to 'better' versions of consoles is just a way of getting more money from you. There's clever ways to hide lengths of cable: if you're on first floor, drilling holes and running them along a basement ceiling can do the trick; pinch them tight in between carpeting and wall. Even if you trade-in, you'll still likely be paying two game's worth for the upgrade; wouldn't you rather have the extra games?

keep the elite, i have the new unit, its alright, the attracts fingerprints like crazy though. just install all your games on your current xbox, it will make it quiet. i was playing FFXIII without it installed and u can still hear the fan so its not always whisper quiet.

Just to update you guys, I went out and got a brand new Xbox 360 S. It's only the 4 gig model but I am using it for my bedroom so I can play wirelessly. I also have several USB sticks around the house that work fine as memory so I am all good. I wasn't going to get the model S at first but after I saw Best Buy was offering a promo with a free copies of MW2 and SC:Conviction I decided to trade in the games I already had as credit toward purchase. I basically had to pay the difference. Needless, to say I am very happy!

I'd love to swap my old 360 in for one with built in wifi, BUT I find it pointless to do so when my current console works just fine.
