trading in a 360 and buying a new one. really need help

Ok I have this 360, it works fine but it is real stubborn in reading games and locks up constantly on half of my games and has trouble reading demos. I tried everything. My warranty is expired so I opened it up to try and fix it using videos on youtube. (I know not a smart idea) Sadly no luck.

I called gamestop today and they said if I trade in my xbox360 along with the cables, and 1 controller (I get to keep my hardrive) I will get $100 trade in value. It is working and starts up so I have the right to trade it in. I was thinking to use that money as collateral in buying another refurbished 360. Should I trade it in and get a new xbox? Cause if I dotn do anytihng (trade/sel) to my xbox360 now it is useless. It cant play games.

I was planning on getting a refurbed one but what are teh chances of me getting a ne wjasper model? Are all models sold at gamestop new models?

That doesnt make sense one minute u say it works fine then the next u say it wont play games? correct me if im mistaken but isnt that what an xbox 360 is for? they wont buy it off u if it doesnt work, they will test it first and if it does lock up they will say no and send u on ur way.

Your chances of getting any of the newer models is slim to none. You never know... you might get one that has the falcon chip. As for the Jasper models... they aren't even out yet. I'd say get a new refurbished one. Way keep a system around if you can't even use it properly. If you have the money than I'd suggest doing it.

EDIT: As the guy above me says... you'll get more for your money if you sell it on ebay and explain the problems with the system.

the jasper models are coming next month so its obvious to wait till next month but you have no guarantee that you will get a jasper model.

edit : i've a falcon model, and its doing great!

you could try calling microsoft and telling them it has the three red rings then they'll prob send you a new xbox.wii_dude101
