2 year warranty has nothing to do with returning a system to get a different one. If it's new and unopened Best Buy or whoever would likely make the exchange. If it is open then they probably won't.
The real question is, why bother, why not just buy the hard drive and attach it to your existing console?
I thought about this too. I just got an xbox 360 pro from Best Buy with their 2 year year replacement deal. Maybe if this system broke and I went to replace it I'd get a new freshly sealed box which could then be exchanged for an elite?
I traded in my premium the first day i got the elite.....they let me keep the 20 gb hard drive until that transfer cable came from microsoft...i have only used 20gb out of the 120 lol theres so much room
