Hey, I recently bought a 360 elite just for it's flagship title comming out in two days. I heard great things about listening to my music while playing 360 games. How do I transfer the songs from my iPod onto my 360's HDD? I know that it's possible to transfer songss via audio CD onto the HDD, but that would take forever and would waste lots of CDs. One of my main reasons for buying the Elite was because of the massive amount of HDD space in which I can store music and etc. Right now, I feel like as if I bought something that is totally going to be wasted, I could have gotten the Premium and save $100 :(.

Hopefully there is a solution for my problem because plugging in my iPod and using the 360 to stream from that makes the Elite purchase useless.

Hopefully I can get some help and thanks in advance.

I'm afraid your not able to transfer any music files from your iPod to your HDD, it's really annoying as I wanted to do the same thing with my iPod when I first got my console.

Your only able to stream your music off an iPod, it's something to do with copyright laws and protected music files, part of the same reason as why you can't listen to music purchased of iTunes on the 360 via your iPod.

Hope this helps :)

I think the reason you can't transfer is Virus's direct MP3s can contain virus's that can knock your 360 out.Maybe, who knows. However if u have Windows Media Center for XP Or Vista (It comes with Windows Media Center) You can stream directly from your PC to your 360

no actually virus can only be contained in exe files and nothing else because it is a small program that has to run by the user.

Wow, this sucks balls. There is absolutely no other way besides using CDs to store music on my HDD? Does any one know Best Buy's return policy? Because it would probably be a wiser choice for me to return the Elite and get a premium and save $100.

if you plan on having alot of music on your hard drive, keep the elite...it would be more realistic to pic up a pack of recordable cds, put the songs you want on those, then put them on the 360, than to return the whole thing all together. might take a while but when your done you wont regret it.

I think the toshiba gigabeat can connect to the 360, also the zune; but think about this way why would Microsoft allow the Apple ipod to have connectivitiy with the 360; when they implemented the Zune for the sole purpose of stealing away some of the ipods market share.

i think most, if not all, mp3 players connect to the 360 to stream songs, ipod included. he is asking about ripping songs from the ipod to save to his hard drive. if the zune does this that would be really cool!

Yes, my iPod connects fine and I can listen to my music ingame via streaming from my iPod, but I would much rather listen to the music thats stored on the HDD. Sigh, I'm still thinking about exchanging the Elite for a premium, but I don't know if it can be done.

Indeed... I have over 25 GBs worth of music and it would take forver. Why the hell should I have to work harder just to use such an awesome feature. It's kinda like the dilemma with my PS3. I can easily rip all of my music on the HDD, but it does not support music from the XMB into games. For the 360, we have ingame music support, but its a hassle to get it on the harddrive. Lame!

I know you can get something that connects your xbox 360 hard drive to a computer via usb.

Of course, I have no idea if you can transfer music, I just know that such devices do exist, and they can be used to transfer files between 360 and computer.
