I ended up buying the 120gb HDD off of ebay for pretty cheap.  It is an open item and does not come with the transfer cable.  I thought I read you can get that from Microsoft for free, does anyone have a link?

Yeah when I requested mine it only took about a week to get it. And for some reason I got two of them!

According to that I would have to have an elite serial number to get that.  Any other way to get one since I just bought the hard drive and not the elite system?

i'm in the same boat as i just purchased the 120 gig drive but it doesn't come with any cable, the cable i hear is reuseable if a friend has one for you to borrow, the disc that comes with the kit is a one-time use from what i've heard though

any info on these issues please let me know

I still have my cable from when I upgraded to 120gb ( "but I might need it later") so if anyone wants mine you're welcome to it. Just let me know.

How long ago did you send in your form for your transfer kit and I know you got it within a week. Just wondering when. Cause I sent my form in by fax. Thanks, Dakota

you can buy the transfer kits on ebay for like 25 bucks but thats the only way you can get it if you dont have an elite serial number
