Transfering saves is a no-win situation isn't it?

Last christmas I finally upgraded my launch 360 to an elite...therefore leaving me with quite a few saves I'd like to transfer over. From what I've gathered however, I only have 3 options:

1. Transfer Cable.
2. Memory Unit.
3. 360-specific flash drive (since nothing else seems to work.)

Am I missing something or is M$ forcing me to shell MORE money just to move my saves?

Well, just about any USB flash drive can be formated on the 360 to work to move them. They are giving you a plethora of ways to do this too. What else could you possible want? You should have a flash drive you can use even if just for this one thing and then reformat back on your computer.

Has it really taken you a year to get around to this? I just used a memory card and did a few trips, its an easy process these days thankfully.

Not every flash drive works. I've used 3 different ones, all 2gb each, and the 360 always tells me that it is 'unstable' and I should get a microsoft one instead. And I'm also pretty sure hard drive transfer cables will cost you money too.

True on both accounts. I tried 2 flash drives and only 1 worked. And they do charge you for a transfer cable (or so I have heard). And seriously OP you have more options than I did. All I could do is transfer cable or memory card. I bought the smallest memory card off ebay (because it was like $5) and did like 1 or 2 trips over to the new xbox.
