I'm looking into a good headset, and something I can use as headphones while I'm playing the game single player, and was wanting to know if the x31 had to be plugged into the TV as well as the Xbox. Also, would I be better to just save up my money and go for the x41? And does it have to be plugged into the tv?

I use my X41s with my 360, PS3, Wii, and for tv and movies. When you get them don't be discouraged by the very plasticky make of them. They do look and feel a little flimsy but the sound is phenomenal, especially considering they are wireless.

X11 must be plugged in. Basically the cheap version of the..

X31's. I have the X31's and they are great. It has a wireless "thing" that plugs into the xbox giving the sound to the headset. The sound quality is great and so long as you don't have a huge head, are quite comfortable. The only wire on the headset side is the 3(?) feet wire that attaches to your controller. I highly recommend the X31's.

X41's. I don't know much about these except that they too are wireless and much more expensive

I would just go with the 31s

well i think the x41's can use audio out, while x31 uses red and white cables, also i think the woofer, speakers are better, like deeper base, and wider audible range

Note: I use the x41s and they are amazing

I got the x41s and they are great. I like them over the x31 because of the 7.1 surround support, the optical pass through and that they will auto switch between the optical and the analog in if you watch tv and play games on the same tv set. basically will switch between depending on what you are doing. My ONLY gripe is there is no warning when the batteries die other that the light blinks but how are you suppose to notice when it is on your head?? when it dies it some times gives you a nice screach in your ear. Just a small beef but there it is.

Wait, what does audio out mean? I think I may just use the basic headset for a bit and save up for the x41's around a few games I'm looking forward to.

with the optical out you can have it still going to a reciever when you want to play in surround and not have to worry about being quiet. Then you don't have to always switch around if you and some buds want to watch a movie.

Oh. Well, I don't have surround sound speakers in my room, so that's not the most important thing to me. And as far as when I play in the living room. Well I won't be using headphones at all, because that'll just be too complicated.

I am just saying it is a plus whether you use it now or in in the future it is an option.

The X11, X31, and X41 are all fantastic headsets at different prices.

The X11 is about $60 and is a great wired stereo set with microphone monitoring and bass boost.

The X31 is a wireless stereo headset at $99 with chat boost, mic monitor, stereo expander, and bass boost.

The X41 is a wireless Dolby 7.1 Surround sound set at $199 with surround sound, chat boost, mic monitor, bass boost, and 50mm speakers.

I have the X41's and they are by the most amazing gaming headset out. You can't go wrong with Turtle Beach, and you should get the best model you can get your hands on.
