Get both, you work hard so buy what you want. I personally will get both, but I sometimes buy a lot of games(because there's so many good ones). These 2 imparticular though I'm really looking forward to and I think they will be GREAT. I can't wait for both of them to come out. I would go with whatever you like best, in UFC you will also wrestle on the ground and not just fight straight up. I would get both though they're going to be GREAT games. I really like sports, especially boxing and ufc, I will definitely get both. UFC has a much bigger roster and right now is much bigger than boxing. However, the last Fight Night released was about 3 years ago and was AMAZING. Just get both...let me check how much time in between the 2 are.

I'm definitely looking forward to UFC more. MMA is so much better than boxing, although I won't lie I do love me a good boxing match. Plus I thought Fight Night 3 was way overrated.

You should really check out UFC man, it has taken over boxing and wrestling. It's HUGE now. The thing is there's all these people who give it hype and half the people don't know how old UFC is, I used to watch UFC in the 90's with Ken Shamrock and crazy Japanese guys. It got a new owner and blew up huge. You should give some of it a watch it's really entertaining to watch.

getting both for sure, two of my most wanted '09 games. Can't wait. If I had to choose just one though, UFC, as I know a little bit more about it and the roster.

In a real MMA fight only if the big blow resulted in the player being KO'd. If it just rocks him and he falls to the ground the ref will allow the dominant fighter to throw a few punches in top position and if the opponent on bottom does not properly defend himself the ref will stop the fight resulting in a TKO then. I'm still a bit of a boxing fan when a good fight comes around but truly I have loved MMA since UFC 2. I'm sure you will continue to like the UFC more and more. Some good Hispanic Mixed Martial Artists would be: Damacio Page Roger Heurta Leonard Garcia Miguel Torres Diaz Bros. I'm Irish American so I have to root for Marcus Davis and Forrest Griffen by default lol.

definitely UFC, but ive been into MMA since the around UFC 20's, before it's mass acceptance/popularity explosion. of course, here in Bettendorf, its a way of life. been training now for about 10 yrs in mixed disciplines. and yes, the ref will stop the fight once the oppononent is not INTELLIGENTLY defending himself. not gonna slam boxing either since i was a huge fan of that as well back in the day (mostly during tyson's reign as champ). should be interesting... I Just don't think you can capture the essence of an MMA fight on a game.

Yea around UFC 20's is actually right AROUND when it got big. What'd you want a cookie for that comment? It had no effect as to why you would buy the game, as I would imagine you watched boxing before UFC. I've been watching since UFC1 and not around UFC1 and I don't train MMA either. I know how to fight but I actually have a brain I can use. As for Rza who said there was a bunch of UFC games before. He is right, UFC TAPOUT on XBOX and a lot of UFC games on PS2, I think dreamcast too. When you said they all sucked though, you couldn't be further from the truth! I know lots of people who would disagree with you. Look at reviews. More people were buying Madden sure but now it's UFC's time, A bunch of those UFC games were really great!! It's been a while since those games release so hopefully this one can be even better!

First off, the UFC only started getting "big" or mainstream around the 60's. If you really wanna get specific, it's still not as "mainstream" as they want it to be. But it's getting there.

Second, I'll be getting both games. I'm a huge MMA fan, and practitioner, so I'm looking forward to a new UFC game. I've been keeping my eyes on this game since it was announced, and it's shaping up very nicely. Button mashers won't be able to last, since you have to counter everything with the right button depending on what you're defending. Apparently it's hard to pick up and master. All good things for a fighting game...

The old UFC games didn't suck. They just didn't do the sport justice. Hopefully Undisputed lives up to the promises THQ are making. I've got high hopes, but not too high.

Fight Night Round 4 will be a lot like Fight Night Round 3, but with more fighters. I'll be picking it up too, I'm sure.

UFC was NOWHERE near mainstream around UFC 20. i agree with dredg mid '50s was when it really took off (not coincidentally around the premiere of the first TUF). and its still fighting for sanctioning now (NY - get on board) and no, dont want a cookie. just relaying that i have some experience in this area and dont see how they can possibly realisitcally portray an actual MMA fight in a video game, grappling specifically. and NO, UFC tapout did a TERRIBLE job. best effort ive seen yet was that pride game. cant remember the name, maybe it was just PRIDE GP. so, in summary, you can make a prettty realistic boxing game. UFC? dont think so...but hope im wrong. one more thing, you trying to say that MMA fighters dont use their brain with that little comment of yours? stupid comment from obviously an ignorant person.

From what I've seen of the game so far, it looks like they're doing a pretty good job. I know what you mean about the grappling and the controls for it, etc...but from what I've heard from people who have gone hands on with the game, it's good.

Apparently it's a little hard to get used to, but once you do, it's good. There's apparently a really good struggle system.

Trust me, as someone who does MMA, I'm anxious to see how they pull it off. I'm hoping this game does for MMA what Fight Night did for boxing games...letting you fight how you wanna fight. Fight Night is as close to a Boxing sim as you can get.

As far as comments about MMA fighters go, I'll be the first to tell you that a lot of MMA fighters out there are actually really smart guys. I, for one, am one of those people. But I don't worry. Most people around here can barely put together a complete thought, let alone type it out correctly...

struggle system? just the sound of that gets me excited for the game. just wondering how its done? im assuming it applies when fighters hit the ground. maybe fighters have certain special moves like to pull off like SF? (maybe chucks overhand right, hughes' slam, carter's spinning backfist - LOL, some crazy Bj sub). how can they replicate rubber guard? will there be some type of reversal system if fighters leave themselves exposed? gotta find some info on this. maybe im being too tough on it before giving it a chance. my only experience was with TAPOUT and i just couldnt get into it.

I don't know if anyone has a "special move" they can pull off, but certain TYPES of fighters can most definitely do things that others can't. For example, not every fighter throws a spinning back fist.

And yeah, there's a struggle system. Every submission attempt is basically broken down into two stuggles. So for example, one struggle will position an arm bar, and the second stuggle will execute it. To pull it off and win, you'd have to win both struggles.

So basically the whole game is a series of reversals. Just like MMA is.

I haven't had the chance to go hands on with the game yet, but I've spoken to several people who have, and they've all said that they were pleseantly surprised so far. So that's a good sign...

sounds sweet. especially the part about it being one thing to position the sub, but another to actually pull it off.i guess i can picture a bunch of SF type movements of the sticks to be pulling off subs. should make for an interesting ground game and great one if done right. hopefully they realistically portray the fighters to differentiate their skill sets so you want to keep it on your feet with a banger, or get it on the ground if you have good jits.

have you heardhow many fighers in game?any legends of past? be cool to seethe miletich, gracies, and shamrocks in game.though their affiliation with other orgs prob prevent that from happening being its a UFC game, NOT MMA. pulver maybe? with WEC which is part of UFC so that could happen...

so many possibilities...have to check it out. thanks for the info.

No, there won't be an classic fighters or legends, unless they're still with the UFC - i.e. Randy Couture. They're saying 80 fighters across 5 weight divisions. So that's not actually that many.

Check out www.ufcundisputed.com. It's shaping up pretty nicely. You can see the fighters in their 3D forms, and some videos.

Not a problem. Check out the Fighters section. You can see their 3D renderings. Some are really good. Even their movements are spot on.

you were both right. diego looked good. and he was a small welterweight and a big lightweight now. should work to his advantage. though doesnt really matter. i dont see any LW taking the belt away from penn. and i dont see diego beating GSP. not anytime soon. no way.

I think Penn will end up losing his belt to Florian at the end of the summer. After losing to St. Pierre he's asked for more time for that fight because he knows how tough an opponent Florian will be and after watching that Primetime show you can see he doesn't stick to his training plan. I admit he used to be really good, but lately it hasn't been shown much even in the Sherk fight.

i hope so. never was a big bj penn fan, though i respect the hell out of his skills. i thought he looked good in sherk fight. stood and banged the whole fight and didnt take any punishment. sherk looked beat up and gassed. who would have thought a penn/sherk fight wouldnt hit the ground once? hoping your right with florian. but IMO bj still has the best ground game in UFC and prob the heaviest hands in LW. but its MMA, florian could easily submit him, or open up a nasty gash with his razor elbows. i would definitely bet its going to be a great fight. thinking after all this grease-gate stuff, we are gonna see a focused, determined penn.

Fight Night Round 4 after reading that in depth preview of the game in Game Informer... UFC sounds hot too, but I don't watch it that much..

I want to know how they handle UFC. I'm just not confident in what the controls are going to be like. In Fight Night, at least the last game had some really nice controls so they could only improve upon that. I want to see how they'll handle the ground aspect of the fights, which constitute a large portion of the actual fight.

I'm getting UFC because i can do stand up fighting and ground and pound. Plus I hate George St. Perrie his is cocky and ignorant so I want to play it so can beat him until he's knocked out or the ref says he's done. Take that Perrie (nightmare would beat ya)

ndifran1

Dude your delusional "nightmare would beat ya"? The same guy who lose to Josh Koscheck and Jon fitch and then dropped down to the 155 division beacuse he realized he was to small for 170.

Dude nightmare went down to a weight he can fight at and kicked the crap out of stevenson so if he has to go down to put on a good fight fine

Your right and I never said anything negative about him moving down. The guy saying nightmare could beat GSP is down right deulsional though.

I am also skeptical about the contrls for UFC: Undesputed, seems like it would be complicated to do what you should do one after the other, such as lets say your oponent is open to a rear naked choke and gets out of that but then hes open for an arm bar, i dont see how there gonna do it to really smooth those actions out, i think a demo is greatly needed for this game so that players can get an idea for the controls of the game and shut ppl like me up who are skeptical on the controls, cause bad controls or not being able to smoothly go from one position to another would be a total game killer. We all known FN4 is a must though, that game is going to be SICK!!, UFC if no demo, retal is a must or good research on reviews

really all i want is for GSP to get the crap to get kicked out of him cause he is wayto cocky and needs to be brought down a notch. Your right nightmare probably can't win but he is dam good and happens to be one of my favorites

I'm definitely looking forward to UFC more. MMA is so much better than boxing, although I won't lie I do love me a good boxing match. Plus I thought Fight Night 3 was way overrated.Innocentguy757
can't agree. Most UFC guys can't box for their life, that's why it always turns into a grappling match 30 seconds into it. If only there was mma with good strikers....oh wait, K-1 has already done that.

not to knock K1 b/c i also like it, but thats a crazy statement. mma with good strikers? how about anderson siva? GSP not too bad on his feet. Jens Pulver? but back to k1, last i checked cro cop was a K1 finalist quite a few times. once again, and not too knock him b/c i was a BIG mirko fan, but how did he fare so far? and most mma fighters arent great boxers. they're mma fighters. ill take mma over any combat sport b/c there is so many dimensions. besides the big prize fights, mma is destroying boxing right now.

Definetely Fight Night Round 4. All the previous Fight Night games have been top notch across the board and the ufc titles are few and far between and have always been a bit hit or miss. Go with the safe bet and buy fight night then rent ufc just so you can really know what you're getting yourself into.
