That happened to me once. I just turned it off, tapped the top of it, and turned it back on. It hasn't had many problems since then, excluding the one red light.Tking1293
when did that happen?? and how the did u get one red light????:?
it will probably die eventually, maybe.. i've had to send mine in once and then I got ther RROD again but my power supply was just unplugged a little and that was it.. but if you have 1 part of the red ring I think that means your harddrive is disconnected a little..skpioneer91
In my case, 1 red light meant my hard drive was completely f***ed. I'm still waiting to get it back since I've sent it on the 4th ...
I've heard of a couple people with your situation.
usually, people that see any red on their power button call it the RRoD, i don't blame them, they're all freaky. anyway, it might have been that your power cable came loose a bit, either from the 360 or the power outlet in your house, when this happens, you get a rapidly spinning red ring. My friend has had this twice, both times the cable came loose from the outlet (not alone,, once my friend was pulling out his phone charger and the outlet divider came a bit loose), and as soon as it happened, he turned his 360 off for about 5 minutes, and continued to play without any problems. The last time it happened to him was about 5 months ago, and he still has a 360 in perfect condition (internally and externally)
I've had experience of both the 1 and 3 rings but by far the strangest incident occurred when I put in Gun (the 360 version) and it prompted me a "Please insert into an Xbox 360" in 9 different languages...that was odd. I suppose it was having some sort of identity crisis.
That is the same situation that I was in and within a week my 360 was completely RROD-ifyed. With me the screen kept freezing up and their would be no sound, save the worries and just admit your system is screwed. BTW the whole wrap it in a towel thing is only a temporary solution not worth the effort.
Oh, that happend to me too, and I didn't know what it meant, so kept trying until the hard drive completely failed and I could no longer start the Xbox. So I lost all my saved games! So make sure you backup everything as long as the box still runs!!!!
I was fortunate that my Xbox was from Costco, so after having played on it for 8 months, I was still able to return it for a full refund. So now I have the Xbox Elite which hopefully is more robust.
