Um, hey. some Q's

I'm getting a 360 for christmas and i have a question....Well i'm getting the elite but it doesnt come with and ethernet cable correct? so could i just use any old cable or do i need to buy a speacial one?

and it comes with one month gold member ship: but after the month's up can i just tell them i wan't more instead of buying those stupid cards? is there an alternative way to buy more month's?

It should come with an Ethernet cable, my Premium did. As for Live subscription, as far as I know, the cards are the only way to do it, but maybe not. I don't have live.... yet.
