Unluckiest Gamer this X-mas? MY STORY - tell me yours...

OK, here goes.

First off I'd like to state that everything I'm about to tell you is 100% true and no fiction at all, even though it would perhaps seem a tad outrageous.

A year and a half ago I became the proud owner of a brand spanking new XBOX360. Been saving up for a while and it was great to finally get some Full HD gaming out of my very expensive Full HD LCD TV. During that coming year I had my TV die on me and I had to wait 2 and a half months for a replacement, but that's not the big case here.

One week ago I finally got my hands on a game that I had been anticipating for about a year, namely MASS EFFECT. At the same time I had also managed to scrape enough cash to buy myself the new PLAYSTATION 3 40G version. You could say with Mass Effect on the 360and Assassin's Creed on the PS3 my gaming life was pretty darn cool

AND THEN..... about 10mins after having put on the greatness that was MASS EFFECT, my XBOX360 wouldn't read the disc anymore. I tried and tried to get it working but to no avail. I quickly went to the store where I purchased it and got it exchanged with a new copy. BUT when I got home it was fairly evident that it wasn't the disc that was faulty, but my 360. I had to accept defeat and call up Microsoft to have them send my coffin for the 360.

THEN, yesterday (a week later) I received my copy of UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE and finally got my XBOX360 sent to Germany for repair. I thought to myself "Hmm, this is a good day, I'm about to play the most anticipated PS3 game to date and I've finally sent my 360 for repair, thing are looking up" OR SO I THOUGHT.

But to my HORROR, as I was about to start up my UNCHARTED copy the PS3 wouldn't read the disc at all. I tried numerous times and tried ALL my other games, but to no avail.... my PS3 was dead, the laser had gone

SO, here I am, writing this to you today... it's a month till Christmas and in about an hour or so I have to call Sony to tell them that the great console I bought lasted me 40 days (whopeee). And I'll be without any next gen gaming through the entire X-Mas period and probably well into January

So, TWO NEXT GEN CONSOLES broken within a week...and while trying to play the two most anticipated games of the year for both consoles (UNCHARTED & MASS EFFECT)

You could say I feel slightly sorry for myself today

Are you sure it wasn't a power surge or something that killed your consoles?

Oh and I was in a situation like yours once. I had two computers and my 360 die on me at once.

Yeah, I'm sure. Both consoles work, but none of them play games from discs. I can for example play demo's from both Hard Drives and they work fine. Both consoles have similar problems though. The 360 has stopped reading discs and continuously I get the disc read error as well as a strange message which tells me to "put the game into an XBOX360 console" when it already is IN one. The PS3 one just stopped reading discs, either the BR player is damged or the laser is shot. Either way, it doesn't read any games.

I heard a story a while ago

Some kid's parents bought a 360 for Chrismas like in November, but since it was for Christmas, the kid wasn't allowed to open it til then.
The kid got all mad and knocked over the HDTV(Or something like that) and broke it.
Well the parents sold the 360 and everything that they bought for it for like $200 and kept the box.
When Christmas came around, the kid got all excited and opened a 360 box full of coal.

Even though the kid had it coming, that had to have sucked.

ouch, that gotta hurt....sorry bro. Advance Merry Christmas still, try to keep yourself busy...you'll never know.

And as far as my unlucky experience, not much of a biggie though. Well I was trying to finish Enchanted Arms 2 days ago and at 90% of it, I encountered a glitch or least what I think it was...it wouldn't let me proceed to an expected cut scene and all of my save files were all to that scenario. :(

lol, thats real ****ed up. sorry to laugh, but damn. nice composer though...i'm a pretty even tempered guy myself to but all that would have me throwing things around my apartment right now, lol big things.
