Is Unreal Tournament like Gears of War? I love Gears of War, it is the best game I have played to date and was wondering if Unreal tournament was like that? Thanks.
They are VERY different. The only similarities are the graphics. UT is a very fast paced multiplayer shooter. UT will probably be the fastest fps you've ever played. Gears is all about taking cover and is much slower paced.

yes, my thoughts exactally. ITs really super fast. your jumping around like crazy. in Unreall championship 2 you could do flips and jump off walls and crap. It was very metrixy.. I loved it though. Im really looking forword to this..
People have mentioned the speed difference, but you have to see it to believe it.
Seeing UT in action with good players is absolutely insane. It is definately the fastest FPS out there. There's also no taking cover in UT, unless you want to die because you stood still.
UT is known for it's crazy fast paced play. Be prepared to go 'Whoa' if you've never experienced it before. I am interested to see if they can make it the same speed for the 360 as the PC what with a different control setup and all.
But yeah, that game is intense. I played UT4 for years and never got tired of it. Maps are generally good, and game play is fairly balanced. The catch is the sheer speed of it all. You'll know what I mean when a five minute match seems to take five hours and leaves you sweating.
Well to be honest, I don't like either all that much, but I think Gears has more poish. Although Unreal does have mods, so it relly depends on what you like.
