Regular 360- Only through vga

Elite- Vga or Hdmi

Thats the only way you can up-scale dvds.

Specifications of the component cable do not allow upscaling with them.  Look it up with google.  It's been mentioned many times.

Dude, it doesn't matter if your 360 can upscale to 1080p or not, all you need is a TV that supports 1080p and it'll do it by itself. Technically speaking, you can upscale a NES game to 1080p if you have a 1080p compatible TV.

But back to topic, you can only upscale with VGA or HDMI.

Its a RIGHTS issue, if the 360 detects component it downscales the picture to 480P.

I know that I did some resharch and ask alot of people the same type of question. The majority said to get VGA cables. I tried it and looked bad on my TV. I have a 720p/10801i TV. The thing is alot of TV will upconvert on its own. You can play a regular DVD in a DVD player and it will upconvert it well. I know I have to change my picture to go from 16:9 to 4:3. It has the black bars on the site, bit my TV is big enought to compenate for it. Just try your TV like this, might look good like mine, I do use the 360 HDDVD player to play my DVD to.
