started my Xbox 360 up and began updating to the new dashboard.

However, once the update was complete the screen went blank, and a message on the TV read 'Mode Not Supported'

The Xbox boots up fine... But is there a problem with the HDMI cable? The 360 works fine with the AV/VGA cable just dosn't work at all with my HDMI cable attached

The TV works fine - but do I have to change any settings?

btw my TV is a Samsung LE22S8

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

Yes dude you have to change tv settings. I don't know how exactly but my friend just got new 32" flat screen Aquos Gaming TV and he had to change settings when using his HDMI cable.

Thanks for the help :)

Does anybody have any idea how i can change the settings on my TV???

It just dosnt make any sense though that my HDMI lead worked fine when usuing the old dashborad but now i have upgraded my 360 it stops working
Just seems like a pointless upgrade to me if it messes up all the settings

I use HDMI cables and didn't have to change any settings on my TV after the update but all TVs are different so just play around with your TVs menus and Im sure you'll figure it out.

I had the same thing. To sort it out you have to change your display settings on your xbox whilst the screen is black. Plug in your component cable then write down how to get there, then do it blind.

Thanks for the help people

tbh i dont think its the TV cos i have tried messing with the settings, but surely if it was something to do with the TV the HDMI lead would not have worked at all to start with

I will have a go at changing the settings 'blind' and see if that works

I ll keep u updated if that works or not

Thanks All :)
