If you get a new HD, here's what you can expect....

1. You cannot switch between them and use both HDs once you've recovered you GT on the new one.

2. You CAN re-download content from XBL.

3. Since you can't switch back and forth, your save games will be stuck on the drive until you get the cable.

4. Once you get the cable (took about a week), it will start by wiping the new drive and just copying everything over from the old one.

My experence with replacing the HD says that you should not use it until you get the cable. In my situation, I got the HD and GH3 on the same day. I went home and started using the new HD immediately after recovered my GT (took about 45 minutes). I played through GH3 and saved as normal. When I got the cable in the mail and went to transfer my games and pictures, it warns you that the new drive will be wiped. There is no other option other than an exact mirror of the old one - goodbye GH3 saved game. At least it's not a painful game to play over.
