I have had xbox live for over a year now and i have not yet been able to download TV episodes or movies. Is that because microsoft has not gave Australia any downloadable media support online?

Will this problem continue after the fall update? (when the dashboard is changed)

Will aussie gamers get a service like netflix on Xbox live?

If anyone has any idea on whats going to happen please help!!!

It's not microsoft, they would love to sell you things. Your governement is in legal wrangling over trade issues. The PS3 is having similar difficulties...

Thanks for the replies

Will that leave gamers from Australia without any video or TV downloads? :(

it will, at least until the legal wrangling has been resolved... Sony has stated that they expect service out to aussies in 2009, so hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel for you folks...

question for you, do you have the ability to download movies/tv shows from itunes or amazon?

Wow things seem pretty bad in Australia as far as digital media goes. Censored content in some games, others being banned becaue you like a rating higher than teen. And if memory serves me right games are over $100USD right? What the heck is going on down there?

Its pretty much the same as New Zealand, well the part about no TV shows and media, but luckily nothing gets restricted over here and games are relatively cheap. All thats available under the video section (except game videos) is some stupid Robbie Williams video, some Viva Pinata stuff and thats about it.

as an australian citizen every decision the government makes about games is wrong lol how many games/gaming moments have we missed due to banning and editing, im still angry about fallout 3 to care too much about tv shows

I know guys! *Cuts wrists* I just buy from eBay but I mean come on! We're dying out here. There is so much more potential if these issues were resolved.

It's not thaaat extreme, both countries are taxed differently so its not as bad as the numbers max it seem, but if you want suck, come visit nintendo australia. Region lock + delayed games.... enough said.
