Normally I'd be very happy with this score if it were any other magazine, but considering the tfact that this same magazine that gave Fight Night: Round 3, Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect, and CoD4 all 10s, this somewhat dissapoints coming from them. The only game out of those that I felt was the most 10 worthy was Mass Effect, and even that was far from perfect.
You would think a biased magazine would give the game a 10. That is so lame. This is why I read GI, and double check scores on Gamespot. People can make ZERO sense.

yeah i mean its scary because OXM usually gives out 10s to great games im not trying to put down fn3 but it doesnt deserve a ten as much as GTA IV does

Anything over a 9 (or 90%) is a must buy IMO so i'm definately buyin it! and as far as i'm concerned NO game should be gettiing a 10 unless its absolutely perfect! and in the 20 years i been gaming i have never played a perfect game! but those are my opinions :)
why are people spazing that reviewers aren't giving it a 10/10. I can bet almost nobody here has even played the game, hell we haven't even seen gameplay videos yet so how can anybody here complain that the game deserves higher than what a reviewer is giving it when they haven't even played it themselves. You can't expect a game to get a 10 or whatever score you want simply because of what it is (in this case GTA). Plus like others have stated, a 9.5 is nothing to complain about, especially when the only "down" side is there being "too many" missions.

and they that unreliable they changed the review scores a few months later for most the games to drop them down to 9s etc (same rating as perfect dark zero 9 * pgr 3 pmsl) but they left pgr4 up on a 10. that mags crap just xbox ads every exclusive is a 9 or a 10
You see this is why the Internet will destroy our society. People have access to giving opinions way easier then they ever have and as a result they give those opinions when they aren't asked for/required/or necessary.
Honestly, creating drama over a 9.5/10. May God help us all.
if it got a 10 ppl would say: "OMG a XBOX magazine gave GTA a 10 to help protmote the 360 version. WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!!!"
Maybe a 9.5 is good, it makes the magazine more credible. ANd their reason is valid. I dont care for filler missions.

Great answer! It's funny too because OXM is notorious for giving games a much higher rating than they deserve in order to promote the 360 - so it makes me laugh that people think a 9.5 is so bad. :P

People need to come back down to earth and realize this game should not be getting 10's from every reviewer.

Wupdidoo.. Filler missions where you kill someone and make some dough... Don't see whats bad about that... I think they just didn't want to give it a perfect score.
The game is not gonna get perfect 10's everywhere no game has ever done that.
Especialy if the game is so good that the reviewer has too make up faults just too not give it a perfect score that says alot about how great this game realy is. IMO too many side missions was a poor excuse for giving it a 9.5 and not a 10 especialy considering the story is about 30 hours long? correct me if im wrong. side missions are just a bonus.

The main demographic of people buying FNR3 are gamers who expect a lot less and to them the game is insane. There are no sports games that compare in detail or gameplay.
lol lowered becoz of filler missions... meaning u dont have to bloody do them. its just if u want to do somit different for a change and add a bit more additional fun.
9.5 is a great score. But the reason for the .5 point drop is pathetic, idiotic even. I also bet they would have given it a 9.5 still if there were less filler missions, probably saying that there were too few filler missions.
They aren't exactly the best reviewing source either way, so I don't even bother with their reviews, but a 9.5 is nothing to complain about.
The only critic I listen to is myself. How the hell am I going to know if a game is good unless I actually get the experience to play it? I judge the game when I am able to play it.

Well said. 9.5 is an amazing score. Although, it is unusual that it didn't get a 10 considering the history of 10's on OXM. In the end, it's only half a point, and the written review itself is what matters. The reviewer said it's an incredible game and that's good enough for me.

the excuse for it having a 9.5 is pretty bad but if you ask me theres minor things wrong with every game.. 9.5 is a great score IMO. gta is gta so we all no we wont be let down!

You havnt played GTA IV yet, so how on earth can you say that "IT DOESNT DESERVE A 10 as much as GTA IV does".
You havnt played GTA yet, so there is no reason you should b e saying it deserves a 10/10 and other games that are already out dont.

I have seen gameplay vids and it kicks azz.
gameplay vids are NOT THE SAME as actually playing it.
Maybe wait till the gam,e comes out before calling it a 10/10
