US XBOX 360 in Europe Plug and Power Bricks

I just bought an Xbox 360 Elite Jasper from US but i live in Europe i used a stepdown converter. i plugged it in and after like a minute the power brick blew and got burned.

So can i buy a European Power brick?

or American Power Brick again and a better stepdown converter? If i buy which stepdown converter should i buy?

Mine is Jasper and I heard they consume less energy now. If it depends answer for the Jasper and if it doesn't tell me what should i do.

i doubt the step down would work you would definitly need a new European power brick but you will only be able to play NTSC games or games that are region free

I have a US and an EU 360 at home and we run 240V power where I live. I stepdown converter does work, the one I use is a beast and it has lasted me for over 2 years. I have tried plugging in my EU power brick however the connection to the 360 is a little different and therefore doesnt quite fit into the console. On the up side I do know for a fact it can be done as it is the common practice over here to now provide US 360s with power brick from EU 360s that can handle 240V and can fit the US 360, I think the problem I have is that my US one is a launch console (yes I know and it is clinging on for dear life right now but still functioning) and my EU one is a much newer Elite.

And I heard that PC cables can be used in Xbox power bricks to. Any Idea?
