I'm going to the USA in literally a few hours. Anyway, I have a UK Xbox 360 could I buy American games when I'm out there (they're a lot cheaper out there and they get new games earlier) and would they work on my 360 back home?

Some US games are region free, I bought Ridge Racer 6 from US and it play well on my PAL 360.

The are some places on the net that you can check which US games are PAL compatible or not. You can try the list at Play-Asia.com or wiki.xboxic.com.

If the game is region free, it will work. So check carefully of which US games that are region free.

Here's another link you can try. A quick count tells me that 25 US games will work on a PAL Xbox 360.

This may be a bit late, but they work perfectly on my one. I got an Alone in The Dark and that was American, and it works with no problems at all :)
