long story short i just got m360 back from send it off for a repair. its a new unit with a new serial code. i put the hard drive and wireless newtork connector on and turned it on to hopefully get some online action.

THE MICROSOFT USB WIFI NEWWORK CONNECTOR DOESN'T WORK NOW.

i dont get it. ive unplugged, turned on/off, nothing helps. the light on the back is red not green.

can anyone tell me if generic usb wireless devices will work on the 360? i really dont want to spend another $100 on another.

thanks

You sure it's the Network Adapter? If it worked fine before, and it's having a problem on the new unit you got...how do you know it isn't a USB problem with the new 360? Have you tried both USB slots? You can channel a WiFi connection through your laptop. And connect broadband from your 360 to your laptop for now...depends how desperate you are.

There are three USB ports to use too you know. If you can't get it to work just use a wired connection, that is better for not having lag in games you play any way.

I for one find this to work. I do not have my connection wireless, instead I use a direct wire into my modem. This usually seems to work on my friends Xbox, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on yours. Try switching your modem from the back of the xbox to the front. This will increase on connectivity and decrease disconnections. If that doesn't work than it could have something to do with the USB port on your new console. If possible, use a direct wire from the console to the modem. Doing this will give you RARE disconnections and great connectivity.

My 360 has not been replaced, the rear USB just stopped working with the wireless adapter. The red light comes on but the 360 never recognizes it. When I plug it into one of the front USB ports it gets recognized and starts working.
