US/Canada & Xbox Live

I'm moving to the US from Canada for about 6 months to see some family and was wondering if I will still be able to connect to Xbox Live the samethere as I can in Canada....will it allow me to or will it know I have gone state side? Will it allow me to purchase MS points online, since I cannot purchase points from the store as US points cards do not work with aCDN account?

Just hoping I'm not going to run into any issues, as I know MS does not allow you to change countries.

...and I know US/CAN are the same region for games, etc, but if I do buy a game in the US with a code to redeem be it exclusive content, DL character, will it work on a CDN account?
