uhh well i havent played the game i a while but I know i've used it online, specifically in terrorist hunt. And you eventually get it in single player.

yea but its not as good as u think u can only use pistol and shield and ppl can shoot in legs and u'll die pretty fastNot only that but someone throws a grenade at you and your dead.

I find it pretty useful and I use it well, but my friends say I'm being cheap or a coward when I use it.Whatever... its just another form or taking cover.
You can use a shield in Rainbow Six Vegas offline and online. Although on the campaign, only certain parts of the map you can start with a shield, for example the first few mission are non-shield which you cant get them anyhow.
