First of all, do ethernet cables lose quality over time or are they like HDMI cables where they either work or don't work? Is this a good ethernet cable to get?

regardless of what type of ethernet cable u get, ethernet>wireless. In addition I've read ethernet cables do differ in quality that affect connection but the difference is so miniscule you won't notice unless you're a connection junky. and that ethernet cable looks fine to me.

If an ethernet cable was damaged, would it just not work or would it work with connection degradation?

I've had a 100ft CAT5 cable for like 10 years and it still works like it was new :) Although one of the clips broke off the end. The one you linked should be great

The one in your link is just fine.

I would definitely recommend buying from your cable from Amazon. After checking around in stores and other online businesses, Amazon seems to sell the cheapest ethernet cables. Order what you posted and you won't regret it.

No. However like all product usage, wear and tear is inevitable (broken plastic clips for example).
