Hi,

I'm moving to S.Korea in September and am wondering will I have any problems using my 360 there. 3 things:

1. Will actually using the console be ok with the original power supply (using a converter obviously) or will i have to get a new brick?

2. Will using my current Xbox live subscription be ok?

3. Will i be able to do something to play Korean games on the console without tinkering with it and possibly messing up my live account (this isn't such a big deal as I can get my long suffering mother to send me games for birthdays, xmas, and maybe even easter)

I know nothing about this knd of stuff so if you have the knowledge I would be greatful.

Cheers, Ralph

You will probably need to get a new power lead, though I don't know if you need a new brick, maybe just the power cable from the wall that goes into the brick would do. Someone else should be able to confirm this.

Your UK 360 is PAL format, and your current xbox live subscription will still work wherever you are. When you need a new one you will need to buy a UK subscription, as the US and Japan regions use different and incompatible codes. The same goes for MS points, which is how I found out they are not compatible cross region.

As for buying new games, because you are using a PAL console you will need to buy PAL or region free games. S.Korea is likely to be the same region as Japan, so uses NTSC-J. If you want to buy games locally you will need an NTSC-J console, and there is no way to turn a PAL console into an NTSC one - you would need to buy another 360. Alternatively get someone in the UK to send them out to you, or find a UK site that will deliver to S. Korea

Hello, I've got an American 360 and I'm heading to South Korea as well. I've tried Gamestop with the same questions and they were clueless. Any suggestions as to where I might locate a compatible power supply for South Korea would be deeply appreciated. I've also heard of some special "mods" that might allow one to play any world format games on a console. Is this truth or rumor? Thanks for your input. Adrian
