Quick question. If I use a USB drive for storage, what CAN'T go on it? Depending on what I can or can't store on it I'll get a bigger or smaller drive.

I know you can store game data, profiles, stuff like that. What if I downloaded a movie from the marketplace? Map packs/DLC? Installs like Spartan Ops or Wargames for Halo 4?

Thanks!

Not sure about your question but FYI: Don't get Sandisk brand right now the Xbox has problems with them, at least mine did it write locked it and the drive broke the first day. So I got a PNY and a couple Kingston's that work perfectly on sale at best buy. I got a 32gb PNY and a 16gb Kingston working at the same time. I called sandisk and they said there is some bad batches out. So they took it back for a refund. I got full games from disks and maps and demos downloaded. Probably anything.

Everything I've stored on a USB drive has worked so far, except some DLC & updates for a couple games; coincidentally both games were from EA. The games were Dragon Age: Origins & Battlefield 3. I couldn't install the DLC from origins on a drive nor could I install the texture pack of BF 3.

The is a video on youtube testing out the different USB flash Drives. They do not run as efficiently as having a xbox Hard drive and take forever to install games on Here is the video link.. "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujSDOUSMHts"

I really hope the next Xbox lets you use external hard drives like the PS3 does. I can get a 1TB one right now for under 100 bucks. That would hold everything I'd ever need. Microsoft is so stingy sometimes with these things.

I use external hardrive and so far I've been able to save and download everything. I'd recommend getting one. A lot more storage for a much lower price :)

Does it work for anything else, or just game saves? I know Microsoft changed some things around whereas originally you couldn't use them at all, but can you use it freely like the PS3 lets you?
