horizontal since there is a vent on the "bottom" that covered up when its vertical. However, someone suggested having it vertical but propped up by hockey pucks - personally, I'm going to try bottle caps but its more difficult than I thought to get 4 of the same size (currently I have 4, but they are 3 different sizes)

I keep my vertical. I've actually tested it out a bit and my 360 runs A-LOT cooler in vertical then it does horizontal. The bottom of the unit is just so much cooler to the touch compared to the results I get via horizontal.

ive heard that its better to leave your 360 horizontally because when the 360 is vertical it can scratch. i also like it because i dont feel like my game is going to fall out.

I keep it horizontal on the top shelf and the PS3 on the bottom shelf, I keep the 360 higher for air flow as it tends to get hotter.

vert is much better because you get 1/5th of the surface area being coverd compaired to half.

Vertical, no reason outside of it taking up less space, and I've never had a problem with scratched discs, thats only if you move your 360 around a lot while its on...

???? then why wouldn't you have it horizontal so the kids won't knock the thing over!

yeah same here. and especialy since its a disc tray that comes out. If it was a slot like the ps3 or wii, then it would be a different story.
