Horizontal, I put it under my coffee table. Plus I heard rumors if you play it vertical it can have heating problems, but than again I could be completely wrong, ha.

I prefer putting my 360 horizontal, less chance that someone will bump it with there foot, or knock the tv cabinet causing it to wobble etc. This can scratch you game cds pretty easily.

I've heard from a good source that, for cooling purposes, it doesn't matter which way you have you 360..but yeah I prefer horizontal

Both, i have the 360 in my room vertical and the 360 in the living room horizontal, and i find that having the 360 vertical can heat up faster than when its horizontal.

I think they way you place your consol does change the heat problems. When you place you consol you want as much of it exposed to air as possible allowing more heat to excape. Obviously if you have it horizontal on the carpet lots of the possible surface area for heat loss will be deminished. I have noticed the because of the concavity of the 360 placing horizontal on a table or flat surface is the best way of increasing the surface area because only the corners of the 360 are touching the ground. There are also more benifits of having it horizontal. Since heat rises more heat can excape through the top of the 360 where as if it is vertical the heat needs to be pumped our through the sides. Also when its vertical there is more surface in contact with the ground.

This is just what I think, its my hypothesis. I don't have any data to back it up lol.

Horizontal. I don't want to take the chance of it falling over if we ever have an earthquake. Man, I must be really paranoid.

I had mine Vertical for the longest time, then games started to freeze. So, i put it horizontal, and everything is fine. Not to mention, it was knocked over once while it was running; that game is scratched beyond repair. lol

If you put it horizontal you have less of a chance for it to fall if you have a lot of people coming in and out of your room.

It really doesn't matter if you don't have many people messing around where it is though.

I have mine horizontal. THe way my setup is vertical wouldn't work plus i don't like the chances of it tipping over if someone were to accidentally knock it over if it were vertical. Also, my faceplate is made to be viewed horizontally.
