I left my 360 in Italy, where i used to have a wireless connection and the wireless adapter;

now that i moved to the US im planning to get a new 360 but i dont have the chance to get a wireless connection.. is it possible to connect direclty the ethernet cable from the 360 to the internet plug or i need a modem between em?

I dont know if i explained myself properly.... anyways thank you.

You are on this board so you do have internet, if you have internet then you have a modem, now if you want internet on your pc and xbox at the same time (so that you can play online with the 360 while also visiting a website on your pc) then you are going to need a router and if you plug the ehternetcable directly in your router with a pc running Windows XP or Vista your immediatly good to go.

But if you don't need to use Internet with PC while you are in Live, you can just plug the ethernet cable to "internet plug" (I don't know right word :? )
