My TV only has one VGA and one Component input, I have to use the component for my HD cable, so I was wondering, would I lose any quality by switching my 360 component cables w/ the VGA ones? I currently have to plug/unplug the 2 component cable devices, and its a huge pain. Should I switch?

hmm well it depends on the TV model wether it's more optimized for Component or VGA, though VGA usuaally looks better, btw what's the native res of your TV?

I have this same question because I have multiple hookups of each on the back of my tv which has a resolution of 1366 X 768, which would be more clear? VGA or component?

looks like both of you should get VGA and set it to the exact native res in this case 1366x768 (720p = 1280x720) as native res>all in most cases

Ok tnanks. Ill probably pick one up today. I tried to use the Pelican HD System selector, but the quality was bad and there were discolorations.

VGA, but you'll have to adjust your image settings for 2-5 minutes

No its not. 720p is 1280x720. 1366x768 is just above 1080i, and the best thing is its progressive. This resolution is just above 1080i, and its the best you can get before 1080p

a word of advice though a little OT, don't go with the official Nintento component cable as it's costs more than the MS official and even more than the Sony official HDMI cable and don't even come close to any of them in quality so defianlty look for a cheaper third party solution

I bought the VGA cable yesterday and its pretty good. On games like crackdown, its looks a little washed out, but then I turned the high contrast on and went back to how it looked w/ component. With games like GOW and TDU, ones that arent cartoony, they look way better. Everything looks more natural. Everything's great now. Thanks everyone.
