VGA upgrading DVDs?

Would i be correct in saying that the VGA cables would upgrade DVDs from 480i to 480p?

NO using regular Componet cables and HDTV dvd come out in 480p

VGA upscales dvds to 720p or 1080i.

NO using regular Componet cables and HDTV dvd come out in 480p

VGA upscales dvds to 720p or 1080i.

or to any other VGA resolution depending on which one you're using (1280x1024, 1024x768, etc)

1280 x 720 is 720p.
