Video games a thousand years from now? Hmm. Well if humanity hasn't destroyed itself by then, or isn't still robbing one another blind or an alien race hasn't gotten annoyed at us and destroyed us for being a childish race that won't grow up, then maybe video games might be:
Personal holo-decks/holosuites
Implants that can be placed at the back of the skull or behind the ear or on the forehead
Being able to transfer yourself directly into the game - pray you don't have a younger brother/sister who switches it off
Fully customisible game worlds, a game that can be anything you make it to be or whatever you wish it to be
Games that can part of your genetic code
DNA based games that respond only to the user and no one else or to the user's family
Head sets that can transmit the game directly to the optic nerves
And you can bet there would still be the haters, the fan boys and so on. Maybe the series we have today would still be going -
Halo - HE HAS NO HEAD UNDER THE HELMET!
Tomb Raider - She's bigger! Game still sucks.
Sonic TheHedgehog- Zimmer Frame Warrior - with Werehog/cat/fox/dog/thingy.
EA Sports Games - If it's broken, we don't bother fixing it.
Call of Duty - Let's kill us some, what did they call them? Oh yeah, Let's kill some kittens!
Grand Theft Auto - Hasn't changed it's style in over a thousand years, male only!
Final Fantasy - All new CGI scenes! We stopped making them into games centuries ago, and we have another Final Fantasy 7 coming out!
Guitar Heroes - We milk it, you buy it still, you fools!
Movie Licences - The movies get worse, and the games will too
And online youngsters would still be foul mouthed and rude for the most part and probably sending electric shocks to anyone who beats them fairly.
