Perfect Dark Zero was overhyped and overrated imo.
uberchrislol
I agree. It wasent as revolutionary as the first one was.
Halo 3 would have been, if it wasnt for the multiplayer aspect.
Id say Assassins creed, it just got so boring and repetitive after 5+ hours...
Gears of War and Forza 2.
I bought them to see what the fuss was about. I found Gears of War painful to sit through in campaign mode (I like a good story, after all) and limited online. All it essentially had was blood and graphics, which doesn't interest me at all.
I found Forza 2 boring. I think I was probably looking for something more arcadey (i.e. PGR4), Forza 2 felt too slow and clinical.
Crackdown, I bought it mainly for my little brother who enjoyed the demo, but I just cant stand the game, it bores me to tears. And I think I loath the art direction of the game, I just cant get into it.
Bioshock, I had my reservations about this game, I felt prior to buying it that it was a bit overhyped. But my need for a new game got the better of me and I bought it. While I wouldn't compare it to Crackdown in how much I regret buying it, it was still a game I got bored with after a while and could have survived without buying.
Table Tennis, It's a fine piece of table tennis emulating gameplay, but come on, it's table tennis. Luckily I bought it used, but that still felt like money down the toilet.
Dead Rising, Fun zombie slashing game, but it gets repetitive quite fast and the controls aren't stellar (especially against bosses) so I ended up not even completing half the game before other games moved in and stole the show.
For me i think it had to be Tekken 5. I just dont get why it was so hyped. I never really got into it and i feel like i wasted my money. :(nbalive4life
Wrong board brother......scurry this one over to the PS2 boards.
N3
i thought id like it cause i love dynasty warriors but they managed to just make a more repetitive boring dynasty warriors clone.
Lost Odyssey was painfully boring. I played through the first 2 discs then traded it. Had no desire to finish it and didn't care if all the characters were killed in a brutal boating accident.
Dead Rising got boring pretty quick too, but you can pick it up for around 20 bucks now so that price seems right.
Do they have to be 360 games? because I research like a maniac before I drop 60 bones, the only ones I can think of are Sonic and the Secret Rings and Marvel Nemesis; Rise of the Imperfects, those are the only 2 games I think that I've ever bought for full price without knowing what I was getting into.
lost odyssey. incredibly boringfdsfgs
You're probably the first person I've come across that finds Lost Odyssey boring. The typical gamer, either doesnt like turn-based JRPG, or really loved Lost Odyssey's classic style. Lost Odyssey is one of the best JRPG, if not the best to date. A true gem in the gaming industry that has been easily overlooked. Either way, you're entitled to your opinion and I totally respect that. It's not everyone's cup of tea. =)
Now to the topic of "toilet video games." I would like to think that I have great tastes in videogames but there is one particular game in mind that I felt I threw my money away in the toilet. That game would have to be Halo 3. You've heard the saying, "If it aint broke, dont fix." Well, in this case, Halo 3 did not do anything new to the highly praised Halo series which made it an average title for me. With the lack of HD 720 & up support, that pretty much broke the last straw on the camel's back. Gun-play is terrible, story has no personality, and the ever annoying players on Xbox Live makes for a horrible gaming experience. To me, Halo 3 lacks depth, and substance. Another cash-in title with an impeccable marketing team. Nothing more. Flame me or not, it's my personal opinion and my take on Halo 3. My appreciation for this series died along time ago in the days of Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo 2 & 3 are toilet video games. The only reason I purchased it because I had a free gift card. And stupid me, thought I would give Halo another chance, only to end up disappointed just like with Halo 2.
Assassins Creed- repetition at its finest
Army Of two- Short campaign and horrid multiplayer on servers that randomly boot you.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2- The first one but with added feature such as sprint and super lag.
I found Gears of War to be frustrating and lacking in replayability. The graphics were good but not worth anymore than PLatinum price, if that.
Saint's Row. I was saddened by what it offered. I beleived ppl when they claimed it could stand up against GTASA. I felt absolutely no necessity to move forward to advance the contrived and borrowed plot-line. Anyone who has played GTA has had their fill of free-roaming destruction between missions, Saints Row produced nothing really new.
Splinter Cell DA, i was suprised that this game was so bad. I love the Splinter Cell series, its one of my favorites, but DA didint have that Splinter Cell feeling and the multiplayer was terrible. Chaos Theory was a great game and I was expecting the series to go no where but up, instead Ubi idiots flushed a great series down the drain and didint even bother trying to revive it, Conviction looks more like a GTA game staring our old pal Sam.
