Vietnam FPS

Can't have that... it might actually give a FPS some heart to the game, in that it's something completely different. No wonder FPS games and especially games like COD are getting so old and stagnant.

Seriously if it wasn't for the multiplayer elements these games would be in massive trouble like the fighting genre.

Men of Valor was a good Vietnam game. 

I think most developers stay away from Vietnam because it wasn't a very "proud" war in most peoples eyes.   

I think a Korean War game would be pretty interesting. Largely the same weapons and such from WW2 games, but a different backdrop, and some very, very intense conflicts. You've got amazing air combat, beach invasions, engagements between armored divisions, tough ground combat, and then with the entrance of the Chinese into the war you've got yourself a brutal struggle for survival against a numerically superior force. I think a Korean War game would be great, honestly.

the only very good vietnam game i played as far as i remember was battlefield vietnam but it was multiplayer only...

men of valor was kinda ok, vietcong was ok, vietcong 2 was crap.

shellshock was total crap, damn how i hated that buggy stupid piece of crap.

But those are all pc games, i agree.. we need a new 360 vietnam game.

I think that it is time to get a vietnam game, the 360 could handle it. Even if they did keep it ww2 but in the pacific theater.  The only time that I played a pacific theater ww 2 game was from the MoH franchise and it was not even that great.  I think that the guys from Infinity Ward could pull it off.

With the announcement of the new COD4, and the setting it will be in, I have to say I am dissapointed.  I think that they should have gone to the Vietnam war.  WW 2 FPS's and modern one's are getting old.  We need a good Vietnam shooter, because there has not been one yet. First of all son, I am 30, A 7 and half year US Army Infantry Veteran. I served in the 25th infantry and the 29th Infantry. I caring a pack on my back that weight more than you wet. I was jumping out of Blackhawk helicopters while you was jumping off of the school bus. So no I am not 12, I do not live in a fantasy. And I have been in combat zones. So basically the saying is true, Those than can do, those than can't do read books about it!

My grandad was stationed in Burma during WWII, I would like a game set around that part of the world fighting the Japanese

OK....i know a lot of good men lost their lives and i am in no way disrespecting them....but Vietnam had no epic battles like WWII....the American government might try and shield you from that but coming from someone who is educated beyond what George Bush wants you to know...that war would only work if you were the Vietnamese..... the Americans lost,badly......and army veteran im sure im living a fuller life than you ever will....i do not pride myself on the amount of people i kill or the amount of familys i wreck.Arsenal140

wow im impressed you could figure all that out about from my knowledge of the vietnam war.....and ive been too a lot of countries and i didn't have to murder people there either.....it is not one of my dreams to kill people and destroy the lives of their family's by the way.....my dream is to live a good life and to contribute to society in any way i can....not to kill people, tear their home and make the lives of millions in one country that had a little to much oil for your leaders liking hell....but if those are your life goals so be it.

Honestly, i would LOVE a Vietnam FPS......

One of my all time favorite FPS's on PC for online action was a Vietnam game called "VIETCONG" It was a great game back in the day! Awesome action, good graphics, nice sound, great level designs....

BRING VIETCONG to Xbox 360! PLEASE! :shock: 

We were soldiers is set in the La Drang valley, that was a pretty huge battle, featuring of 2000 dung in NVA, when you talk about the jungle battles I think your referring to purely the Viet Cong, the NVA was a proper organized military force, including Armour, and had some key battles with the US, the jungle warfare was merely a part of the Vietnam conflict kmanmarr
