New news article and developer interview indicates the 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 will support online multiplayer. Never doubted it personally, but's it's nice to get a confirmation!

I have nothing against xbox but for them to do this is garbage because regardless of whether PSN matches XBL in features, it still provides smooth online play so the bs that they said about lag was all an excuse.954LatinoThug
Not really. Lag kills a game that relies on per-frame movements, I know eveyrone uses the example of DOA but having played it, even with 2 good end connections...it sucks, it's simply not good enough for VF competitive play. However they have probably shoe-horned it in there anyway to please people and get a larger audience, and since it's on the 360 (the non-Japanese market) they don't jeopardise their arcade market-share either. Even if it isn't perfect it makes sense from a sales perspective, those who want to use can now knock themselves out. Seems to me like SEGA have just given in to the masses.
It will still play far from perfect, and purists will avoid it like the plague, but it's in there, be happy *goes back offline*.
the only reason this game has online its cuz the developers do not have to come up with dedicated servers.....if this game is anything like tekken, im probably gonna pick it up....Dante2710
Bingo - Xbox allows any and all developers to go online - on the cheap. P2P isn't reliable most of the time, but I'd rather have some online, than no online.
This is the first VF game I'm going to buy since VF 2 on Saturn, that says a lot about the importance of online in fighting games this gen.
