I have been playing Halo lately and I realize I can hear my opponents mic sometimes and they sometimes hear me. Anyone know why and when this can happen? Is there anyway to prevent it?

well if you don't hit the radio button ( which i believe is the left bumper) then anyone within 10 meters can hear you no matter what team, i think that's how it goes. the only way to prevent that is to either mute the mic or press the radio button every time you think you're gonna expose yourself. then again...how CAN someone hear you through that helmet.........KGB32
what if your an alien!

dont the aliens have their own language? then you shouldnt be able to understand each othe, even if you could hear through the helmet.
ur enemies can only hear u if ur in proximity and vice versa... its not a problem or a glitch.... its purposely put into the game... and the other team cannot hear you from long range even if u pused the button...sooo yea.. thats how it basically works
justnher
I had a feeling it was something like that but the manual didn't explain it properly.
