Would you rather see a new Gears of War sequel, or a Gears of War prequel? I would actually rather see a prequel, because the game just started off in the middle of the war, and I would like to fight when the war started and the locust just emerged, I think the storyline would be much richer and deeper too. Then I think that for the third game make it a sequel. Or, they can make a trilogy, Gears 1, 2, and 3, and then make a prequel. What do you guys think?
I'm personally not a fan of prequels. I've always said that if games/movies wanted to start from the beginning then they should've in the first place. I'm certainly not saying prequels are bad though. I'm gonna say sequel, but with flashbacks to the beginning of the whole ordeal.

i say will kinda like a sequel and in the sequel put some movies explaining more things about the past of marcus how he end up in jail (of course he didnt follow orders triying to save his father but it will be nice to know more)
I think a prequel/sequel would be good, make it to where you get to fight in the pendulum wars as marcus, then do emergence day, show why he got sent to jail (he abandoned his post to save his dad, which gets him court marshalled) and then the rest of the game takes place where GeoW left off. This time make it 20-25 hours long and 8 chapters.
Prequal becuase if you have seen the video in the gears of war main menu then you will know that the humans destroyed their own homes. You could play as dom and go through the horror of destroyingthier own home. At the end of the game dom would say " I think I know one last soul who could fight, and jesus F'ing crist he can fight..."

Agreed that this is a much better question than most. I think a sequel for now and then do GoW3 and make that the prequel. I like the idea of finishing the story and then going back to the beginning.

Personally I would definitely like to see a Sequel first. They left the game hanging a little too much to not finish the story. IMO they should do a complete Trilogy - then as a 4th installment do a prequel.

i want a sequel that talks about some of the things that happend before gears of war but continues the story with new charactersPacBoy23
my idea was to have the beginning of the game (1 chapter)be about the pendulum wars, then another chapter devoted to what happened on E-Day, showing civilians running for their lives. Then have about 5 chapters leftover to be a sequel to the game. This is all on the same disc by the way.
my vote goes for sequal, let the series evolve, allow new weapons and new enviroments and new stories. In the special edition the book mentions how the war started what happened how humans F'ed up the planet so the locust couldnt reap the benifits we created, id much rather see something new then to go over the story we already know again.
The Gears of War movie should be the prequel, and the game should be a sequel. I hate it when games jump around. Of it's going to be a trilogy make it a fricken trilogy, not a duology with a prequel.
IDK, I really want a sequal more, but I think it'd be cool if 360 got a sequal, and the PS3 got the prequal(finally another reason!)
In the sequal, I think it would be cool if you were like a teenage stranded, and you had to like fight your way out of the city, group up with Delta squad, and launch a final strike against the locust(which would be in the 3rd game).
