don't want to pay $100 for the EBow wireless unit.

What are my options? Computer and internet in a different room and I have no router, need suggestion on what to get for less then EBox wants.

You have a couple of options. First you can always get a long ethernet cord cheap off ebay. Also if your computer is a laptop you can do internet sharing (check out youtube for a good example for that).

i heard you could use the old xbox adapter, but you wont get a good connection with it, or it isnt as reliable, and if you have a laptop with wifi, you can bridge your connection

You can get a ethernet to wireless converter for 70 bucks on ebay. I have used them in the past and they work really well actually.

I tried using a a TrendNet Wireless USB Adapter and no luck so I guess the Xbox adapter is the only one that works :( It sucks, because the Xbox Adapter is not in my price range right now.

There a few options besides the first party adapter, although I recommend just shelling out the 100$. MS products are very expensive, but they are of good quality.

The list of supported alternatives is hidden deep in the bowels of the MS website... search for it with google and poke around xbox.com to find the list.

If u have a laptop connect ur 360 to ur laptop with an ethernet cable. Then go to manage network connection. highlight both the LAN, and the wireless connection then right click and choose bridge connections. wait 2 minutes and ur set.

I saw this $69 network adapter the other day at Best Buy. $30 cheaper than the other one, which is what I have.

Listen to this guy. I play with many people who are wireless and they always lag whenever they have more than one thing running off their connection. Just stay wired. I can download crap from my computer and play on live lag free.

Its a bit complicated when u bridge the connection right click on the wireless adapter ond bridge it while both are highlighted. if that doesnt work try the lan. If that doesnt work enable UPnP. IF that doesnt work check youtube for a tutorial for a better explanation. Trust me it works.
