So, I want to cause the red ring of death on my 360, so I can get an hdmi equipped one and the 65nm chipset. Since I'm on exams, I won't be playing for like two weeks, so it doesn't matter now. Any ideas on how to cause the red ring of death? I thought about letting it on for like a day and so, but any ideas would be welcomed
I have herd if you put towels over it or something it can cause it to overheat. But I am not to sure. I don't know anyone that says they want the RROD haha.
wrong, friend of mine sent his and got an hdmi equipped one, and they're trying to get all those "faulty" 360's out of home and put some good ones out there, so I should get one, anyway I'm going to see how things work out, but I've never even seen a RRoD in my life, or well, just in pictures
I want the Red Ring too... My 360 just broke the other day by not playing any disks... All disks say "unplayable" or "unreadable"... and my warrenty on my 360 is over, so if I get the Red Ring, then I can replace my 360 free of charge... I currently have my 360 wrapped in 5 or 6 towels, and am letting it sit in the dashboard for a few days, lol... Doesnt seem like its generating alot of heat though...
I managed to get half of the Ring of Death... Only 2 sections were Red... Quadrant 1 and 3... Does Microsoft replace 360's even if it doesnt have all 3 Red?
has to have all 3. wrap it in towels and put it next to a heat source i.e. boiler, radiator. also make sure it is sitting on a warm surface or put towels under it aswell. low to the floor should help it to collect dust too, so shud putting it next to a pc as that sucks in alot of dust. good luck.
I will do it next year when the game fever goes down a little bit... Around the summer.. I will just turn it on for 24 hours on a warm dayand hope it will come... or else I will use extrem force... lol
Towels kan help, it costs alot of heat for some reason. I had a laptopof my brotherand harddrive burned because I put a towel underneath it... Laptops dont seem to have good warranty...
I also have disks unreadable msg. Can't belive MS don't cover this. Has anyone had any luck forcing the RoD? How much would it cost me to order a 360 DVD drive?
why the heck do u want the rrod?!?!?!?!?!? I got the red ring of death and its no fun at all... i got mine online and i had to send it back to the place where they fix it then when i got it back it got the rrod again!!!!!!!! if this happens a 3rd time i believe they will give me a freash system... also i heard that the rrod is completely random...
So when i get it back will it work for a long time after that? Will they really replace parts? Does any with the new parts give the rrod? Why are people sending in there 2nd and 3rd and 4th 360 if there getting newer cooler parts? Will it have a new 3 year warranty when i get it back?
Guys to be honest Microsoft dose cover their systems because the first time i had to send my 360 back ya they asked for my warrenty but after that then my 360 stoped reading and playing my games and the disc tray kept getting hung up on something and i had to try to prie it open with a small flathead screwdriver then after that sure enough i got the RRoD from the hardwear fauiler i for hardwear fauiler twice so i got RRoD twice..but on Dec 27 2007 I was playing my 360 it played fine then i heard a loud noise lie it was eating my dise i took the dise out looked at it and tryed 2 play it and sure enough i got Unplayable Dise and when i tryed the troubleshooting it i stood it up it sounded like something that reads the dise broke off or something but sure enough i am now waiting on my Xbox to come back i have 1-2 more days FEDEX is slow but anyways microsoft will fix your 360 even if the warrenty is shot and besides all those times after my warrenty was shot they fixed it for free :D
Red ring of death isnt just for overheating that just one publisized one technically lost of things cause it even a faulty power cable can cause it to RRoD Just tell MS it has the RRoD they hardly ever check (as RRoD can come and go its hard to prove) especially as there trying to get rid of them

The 360's with HDMI also have the newer Falcon chips. They also don't need to be grounded (which is why they don't have a grounding plug on them) as well as have silver plated ethernet cables!
I was thiinking about doing the same thing. I bought the extended warranty (over the counter exchange) at Gamestop. I was wondering how available the HDMI version was and if it really does have the smaller chipset??
FYI I don't know what your chance percentage of getting HDMI or the smaller chipset on your regurbished Xbox 360 so I would be careful. You might be better off just selling your console and buying a new one.
