if i expected to get bored very quickly... than yes it didktm1255
I expected to get bored very quickly, and I was still dissapointed. Forget overhyped games, IMO Bungie is the most overrated studio out there. Now COD4, that's what an FPS should be. Don't get me wrong, Halo had a couple of things going for it ( I like how you can record your matches etc.) but the gameplay is stale and if not for the 4 player co-op it would have been a total write off.
The story was vague, the matchmaking is coincidential, the singleplayer lacked satisfaction, the enemies were a bore to fight, the multiplayer is frustrating and untweaked, the weapons felt weak, you didn't drive every veichle in campaign, the maps sucked, the 4-player co-op is very laggy, and finally, the Forge mode is useless and dumb.
Halo3 is a good game, but not a great game. It doesn't even reach the peak that the original Halo accomplished, were it the fantastic singleplayer campaign and the fun and friendly 4-player multiplayer.

How can you say forge is useless??!!! Have you seen the creations people had made? I myself have created some good things with forge. A lot liked me and my buddies zombie setup on Last Resort(Zanzibar). Rocket Race was created with forge as well and the tricks game type is really good.

agreed 100% allthough Im not very good with creating maps, Its really a fun feature. atleast now people can make there own personal maps if they get bored with the ones made by bungie.
and I didnt had high expectations for the game, like most of you did. so Im not dissapointet with the game. Allthough Im not playing it much by myself anymore, more with friends.
I think it lived up to the hype that the developers made it. It did not, however, live up to the hype of the consumers. I knew it was going to be an amazing game, but not the best game ever. Good single player and great multiplayer, came as expected. I was satisfied.SirFatalChaos
great post. probs to this guy^
Halo 3 ended up being quite a bit more than I expected. I love the universe and the story created through the novella, but Halo 2 didn't impress me in the least, so I wasn't expecting much coming from Halo 3.
I was pleasantly surprised to find an interesting story coupled with classic Halo combat. As to multiplayer, it's good fun if you've got friends to play with. It's quite an improvement over Halo 2's multiplayer.
No future Halo can match the shock and surprise of HaloCE's first run in with the flood... you went from an alien shoot-em-up to a first person horror shoot-em-up in ten seconds flat. That was an experience. In Halo 3 it was just like, "Oh, hey... they're here."
HaloCE still has my vote for my favorite FPS.
If I wanted a tedious, melee based multiplayer that relies heavily on who has the fastest connection then no....

if you play smart, the game is not all about meleeing. I got 1500 assault rifle kills and 900 melee kills in the game. most people do it I know I also do it but its my second choice. killing using my weapon/grenade comes alway first. just play smart and keep your distance if you dont want to be meleed.

Play Snowbound, High Ground, Epitaph or any other close range map and then tell me that. I'm not an idiot either, check my stats - my GT is Triba. After alot of exposure to the game I realised its glaring flaws. And for your info, the assault and carbine are my favourite weapons, closely followed by the needler.
Also, all Lone Wolves (the fastest way to boost skill) is, is one giant melee spam fest. Of course, I'm not keen on the close quarters type of play, but throw in lame, overplayed gametypes that place more emphasis on spam than skill (Hammerzeit, Rockets anyone?) and melee intense gametypes (I know you can use ranged weapons, but it's hard to do in any sort of close range map - i.e. every Lone Wolf map) like Juggernaut, Oddball, King of the Hill, Flag Rally and Mosh Pit and your looking at one frustrating experience with any sort of lag.

seems we are on the same page. good going. Its up to us good players to show the melee brats, that the game can be played otherwise. and yeah Snowbound is my least favourite map and I veto it 90% of the time. I hate thos CampBIA***S in those caves
Living in Japan I avoided any hype and played through it co-op which made it all the more fun and draged the experience out over 3 weeks. So yeah, id did alot better than 2, ended it all okay. Sure I prefered 1 but it was only ever going to be more of the same right?!?
