2 months ago I'd say yes. I've played it a little bit more since then and given it a fair chance. The game is undeniably fun, but I don't know if any game can live up to the hype level Halo3 had.
Personally, i hate the series always had. So naturally i wasnt expecting much, which is why i was pleasently surprised when i enjoyed playing the game through, i even bothered to play through Legendary for the points (Solo no less, i'm not a multiplayer fan)
Your talking about halo 3 right? Well imo no it wasnt a disappointment. I was expecting a big jump like Halo1 to Halo 2 but after thinking about it i dont know how it could have done so. Its a great game and i love the physics aspect of it all. It didnt disappoint, just failed to take it to the next level like Halo 2.
I didn't care much about Campaign and I still haven't beat it. I just play Halo 3 online multiplayer because it is fun and I like to annoy people by teabagging their dead bodies.
First off, I assume you are asking if Halo 3 was a disappointment. I don't think it was a disappointment. Did it live up to the hype? It's debatable, but it probably didn't. It's a great FPS shooter in my opinion. Is it the best? No. But it doesn't mean it's a disappointment. It has its' flaws. Bottom line, I consider it nothing more than a real solid shooter.
If you were refering to Halo: CE in your question, then I would have to say it wasn't a disappointment. Halo: CE was an incredible FPS when it first debuted and easily one of the more enjoyable ones at the time.
I hated the Halo series until I borrowed Halo 2 of a friend near the end of last year. I didnt have Xbox when Halo 3 came out, I didn't have any expectations, but I think the game is great, and I'll probably keep playing it for a long time. The campaignat least, I'm not good enough at MP to enjoy it. Stuck on 23 for my highest skill..
halo 3 was!! no drinol (cut out race, possible boss) short and easy campaign, the worst final boss ever, lame ending, no sharuqoi (another race that was cut out) still confusing story, not so great graphics, the main reason i'm saying that is because during the beta they said the graphics would get better and there's a 2% difference compared to now and then. the only thing i truly like is theater and forge modes.
not for me, i didnt have high hopes for the SP, because i never liked the halo 2 one, but Halo CE was good. Plus i never had live on the xbox so never played it online. I was excited for it but not that hyped. So for me the MP was awesome (is) but the SP so so as i thought it would be.
I dont see Halo as the god of all games, just a good fun MP game really.
Nah... as everyone knows people over-hype games...I am sure people are going to have the same opinion of GTA4 because people expect perfection... Halo 3 in my opinion was a good game and not a disappointment and worth every dollar of the price in my opinion (but I wouldn't mind paying less either). I just think people obsess too much on how good games might be and disappoint themselves...
