...but I do have somewhat of a moral sensitivity in games. I really enjoyed Oblivion and Mass Effect, besides all the other amazing qualities, the moral choices. I liked Fallout 3, but eventually had to stop playing because I could only see a person getting blown apart in slow motion so many times. :) Where does Dragon Age fit in the morality area? The game looks awesome.

Dragon Age could be called a diplomacy RPG, in that you can be a ultra nice guy who gets woody when he helps someone to just plain ruthless and destroy everything and everyone who gets in your path....

The game is awesome and the best game of 2009 in my honest opinion.

If you liked Mass Effect you will enjoy this imo.

Well, it's WAY less violent than fallout.

But, from time to time, you still see someone getting decapitated or getting a sword in the face. It still deserves a M rating.

I don't like Fallout too much, even though I loved Oblivion. Dragon Age is like Oblivion + Mass Effect + Bulder's Gate, it is a fun game no doubt, I haven't spend a lot on it yet, but it has a lot of moral choices, and those choices will determine what will happen in the game later on, and how your teammates react.

I see what you mean, but there is a difference between being an assassin going against the bad guys and ruthlessly killing as many people as possible. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it fits perfectly, but my gaming sensitivity has its limits. Thanks for commenting.

I've put some time into Dragon Age and I've loved it. After seeing the trailers I was kind of turned of by what appeared to be over-the-top violence, but was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case. There is definitely parts where your comrades have blood splattered on their armor, but I think it's tasteful and may even add a bit of "reality" to the game. As was said above, far less violent than Fallout. As for gameplay, it is good game. I love the decision making in DA:O. It feels sometimes like there may not be a right decision and requires the player to make tough choices. Mass Effect is one of my favorite games of all time and this game feels very similar to that (gotta love Bioware). My recommendation is to get the game.

GOTY imo, do not pass it up. It is very similar to Mass Effect. In terms of blood, the gameplay is not too bad but cutscenes can get pretty brutal and blood splatter will stay on your person even in dialogue. Pretty weird. Overall an amazing game though.

EDIT: the morality is very well done, it is not always clear what is right and what is wrong, the player must choose on what they truly believe and see what the outcome is.

Dragon Age was fantastic! The story line is great and Bioware really gives you alot of freedom on how you want to play them game...there is alot of blood int he game but its almost campy...you kill a rat and your armor and face have blood all over it lol...the violence feels much different from Fallout...which I didnt enjoy. I highly recommend DAO especially if you love story driven adventures like Mass Effect.

Dragon Age is a great game. I'm playing through it right now (on PS3) and it's very addicting. However, it has a steep learning curve, and can be very difficult at times if you don't know what you're doing. It's easy at first, then all of a sudden it gets pretty challenging. Once you get the hang of how you have to play the game, it gets easier and very fun again. Just know that it involves a lot of strategizing, pausing, and commanding, and setting up tactics, micromanaging, etc.

You know, that never gets old. I can see someone's face explody any time. Also, Dragon Age: Orgins is one of my next game purchases.
