its probably your NAT settings,  try opening more ports on your router for the xbox

Well,  there may be one thing to do.  But this may or may not help at all, but you could see if it's more stable.  If you use a modem and router, go into both configs and port forward.  Since the firewall dosen't mess with any packets, it may appear to be a little faster or stable.  If you don't know how to do this, whatever computer is connected to your modem, go on that, and type the ip address of your modem into the search bar of your internet browser.  For your router, do the same thing.  Use "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) in DOS to get the ip if you don't already know it.  To get to DOS, Start > Run and type "command" without quotes.  If you still don't understand, call your ISP and have them walk you through it.  Just ask for "how do I port forward"
