weird 360 issue...

Ok, i wanna play Gears of War. I insert the disk. and in the menu screen, it freezes and checker patterns apear on the top and bottom of the screen. But not in the middle. Its really the same as the freezing issue the xbox 360 has but it turns most of the screen into small rectangle boxes. While this is happening the 360 is still spinning the disk. I eject the disk and turn it off. i turn it back on and i get the 3 red rings of death. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!! (it does the same for other games, so its not just gears.)
