Being a big fan of the CMR and TOCA series, I'm eagerly anticipating GRID. The graphics engine is the same one used in DiRT (Neon, it's called) only tweked to get more from it. You can tell by the texturing that it's more advanced than DiRT. We all know how well that engine renders light and shadows, so now it's been amped up. The amount of realism Codemasters is able to squeeze from this engine is amazing!

Here's a few screens. Just wanted racing fans out there to know if you didn't already

Enjoy.

I posted a similar forum a few months ago when I saw the first screenshots on Gamespot and I was amazed... of course the majority of the people that responded were Forza 2 or PGR fanboys who said it looked identical. I told them they were smoking crack. Also, another good looking one is Midnight Club LA. They actually got licensed for all of their vehicles now and the screens look pretty sick. Saw it in Game Informer a few issues back.

So are the cars going to turn on a central axis like in dIrt? Are they going to have 7 race modes with only 2 available online? Pretty pictures don't make a game.

Well at this point in time there's very little information about the specifics of gameplay, other than what you can assume from looking at the screenshots.

Sorry, all I have to offer today is pretty pictures. :)

Those look amazing!

But dirt had frame rate problems, all over the place, I hope they can really get more out the engine, since this game looks like it has quite a bit more geometry than DiRT did. I hope it doesn't crawl.
