None have suffered from the 3 rings of death. My first two were launch systems, they failed with constant lock up problems after 14 months. So i had them replaced with cores. Shortly after that, i traded one core in for a Elite. My other core failed yesterday...7 months after i got it, and in the same way as my other 2 units. Fortunately it was under warranty and i had it replaced. I love the 360 and Live, but im finding it harder to recommend the system to people who ask me what system they should get, based solely on the reliability. My Elite is working, but it runs very hot and is as loud as a vacuum cleaner, my new core runs silent and cool. I have had great times with the 360 and I'm looking forward to many great new games. But, man these hardware issues are trying my patience.

I'm on my third 360 as well, I'm afraid of it breaking down again. If it does I'm not screwed, but come on, it will really suck...

Yes, but remember, the 3-year warranty is only for the red rings of death. Its a one year warranty for any other problems. None of my 360's failed from the rings of death.

That's why if you have any other problem you say it's three red lights and get it for free :)

Why does it seem like once a person gets a broken 360 that they keep breaking? Like you dont hear of many people that only had the problem "once". Lucky me I havent had it at all on a launch console
