I have router but the problem is in my family someone is always on the computer and for some reason everytime they are on the internet I get booted off xboxlive so I am only on a night.Vincent_Core
I would get a new router... I mean the point of a router is to give acces to all ports plugged into the router.

You either have a way too low internet connection speed or you're router settings are not correct.Â
Well I do have a 3MB conection speed but we are moving in 3 days and we upgraded to 15MB in our new house.
I am not talking about buying the elite I am talking about buying the stand-alone harddrive.Vincent_Core
Yes I know that. Its the HDD thats having the problems. I have a friend who bought the HDD and the transfer cable and has had no problems. As a matter of fact he said if I buy the HDD he will send me the cable for free. I dont know whats goin but that really sucks to see more problems with Microsofts new products again.
this really just comes down to having a correctly functioning router, which you do not have.phobos8u
Your most likely right its a cheap-o Netgear router I got for 30 bucks

Well, get a new one lol. Then you can get the 120gig hardrive. problem solved.
I can play all my arcade games offline.gamer4life85
Your saying you have the 120 gig hard drive and your able to play all your arcade games offline?
I can play all my arcade games offline.gamer4life85
That's because you're on your first console/hard-drive combo. If you replace either your HDD or your console you have to be connected to live or you can't play your arcade games or use your downloaded content.Â
Here is a link in case everybody is wondering what and the heck he is talking about.Wellfedmonkey
Thank you.
I'm not planning to get the 120 GB Hard Drive simple because I don't need that much room.
if you buy the 120gig hd by itself... you will have no problems... you can play offline etc etc..... its only when you upgrade to an elite that you cant...inkybinkydonkey
Exactly. If you want to buy the harddrive by itself, u will get the transfer cable, and will be able to play arcade game offline with no problems. Arcade games are linked to the console they were first purchased on, but transferring them to another harddrive changes nothing.
I guess it's just tiresome to re-download everything.. But still. People can't complain that much, you're not meant to go out and buy an elite when you have a premium lol.
I really wish they would bring out like a 40-60 gig though. 120gig is way too much room and way too big a price tag. But 20gig is too small? I wish MS would quit trying to compete with sony and start sorting out its fans and customers.Â
well i just got the elite, and lost all my arcade games and saves, but when you sign in to live all you have to do is go to the recently downloaded list and you can re-download all of your arcade games(Full version) and any other downloads and play them offline. you can also download again the free south park episode if you originally did. the same thing applies for a new hdd, even though im not sure why you are worried since all new 120hdd come with a transfer cable.mustang03
Re-downloading arcade games on a new console doesn't make them playable offline. You don't have to pay again but that also means the new 360 you're downloading them with doesn't have the rights to the purchase. The only way that would work is if you bought them again using a different profile.
if you call customer support they might be able to do something, but im just guessingzero9167
No, the customer service is pretty bad. My brother called about our defective 20GB HDD, and half of the people he talked to didn't even know what a Xbox 360 was, but knew what a Playstation 3 was when my brother asked them that. :?
