Sony is more arrogant and Microsoft is more greedy, atleast it looks that way. If you check the profit they made on the xbox and how much they are making on the 360 then they migth aswell stop doing it because it's too much trouble for little profit. I think the xbox department within Microsoft is trying to make as much money as they can so that the big boys upstairs dont shut it down.
But hwo can you actually see who is more greedy? Sure some might ask for more money then others but they might need it more aswell. Nintendo is making the most profit since their console is cheap and they are making more profit on each one then SOny and Micfrosoft combined, so they should are more greedy.
What the **** is "mycrosoft"?Sc07iaFr34k

Anyways, you can consider anyone that makes a profit doing anything as greedy and by singling them out from every other corporation in the world, making them look like the bad guys by asking your question, is unfair. I'm curious as to why you didn't include Nintendo into the equation either because they by far IMO are the greediest of the three console makers. IMO they make crappy games with crappy hardware with their only selling point being the wii-mote and the THOUGHT that you can actually excercise and get healthy by way of their system. Obviously people fall for it and hey let's face it, it's working.
greedy? they are both businesses, they job inst to provide everyone with kit and gams they want, they job is to make money - end of calling big companies greedy is pointless, they boths hown they are more than game to compete and drop prices when needed. just another thread to moan about not gettin stuff for free. boringdjrobst
Although the English is almost indecipherable, the spirit of this post is right on. A company's sole reason for existence is to make as much money as possible. If they didn't try to make money, they would be crappy companies. This is the problem with 10 year olds trying to wrap their minds around consoles and games which cost a lot of money.

Actually, a company's sole purpose is to create value for their stockholders. One way to do that is to make money. Another way to do that is to increase the reputation of your company, and add long-term value to the stock. Overpriced accessories and the RROD don't help much.

If your rep suffers, your profits are threatened. The cash is the root, and things like reputation are only branches.
What most people fail to understand is that these companies aren't in business for just for you. They are in business to make a profit. So if making money is greedy then every organization in the world is greedy. Take some economic classes or get some common sense people. People hammer MS for being an evil corporation led by the "tyrant" Bill Gates, but Bill Gates gives millions of dollars to charities each year.
Number One rule of economics and finance...maximize shareholder wealth.
i have a 360 and do not own a ps3 and still say mycrosoft are a bunch of greedy bast@rds. sure they're both buisneses in it for the money but ms is selling defective rrod systems to the consumer and is known for monopolizing the market so consumers have no choice but to buy its defective hardware/software. It'll be a sad day when ms owns the gaming market, say hello to shoddy buggy games.

How has Microsoft monopolized the console market?
well theyr both companies so both are in it for the money, so we cant blame them for trying to make as much money as they posibbly could... but if i have to choose i say both... ps3 is just too expensive for some people (including me, even though the only reason is cause my mom wont allow me to buy it, even though my sister got a freakin mac book) and xbox 360 is greedy also with its little accesory which isnt built in, so you have to purchase them to use them...and their online is not free either even though i think xbox 360 has the best online but still couldnt they make it cheaper...but hey at least ps3 and xbox 360 are still great consoles...unlike wii with its gimicky controls which tries to fool parents to buy theyr kid a wii cause nintendo wants parents to beleive its "healthy exercise"..pffftttt yea right.... but hey theyr all companies just trying to make a living..i dont blame them for being greedy...heck..its probably the reason why their companies are succesfull and any other company for the matter...

They've not monopolised it yet but thats ms's usual buisness plan. They launched first (with their defective hardware) in an effort to corner the market. They made they're system easily hackable so it will be popular in piracy countries and uhhmm vista sucks? Also the ps3 costs more because they use quality hardware sony is making a loss on every ps3 it sells just to compete with ms's cheap defective hardware. Sony is getting hammered on both ends by consumers for being too expensive and by its own financers for not being expensive enough.
Most businesses in public would say that monopolizing their respective markets is bad, but deep down they all wish they could pull it off. And besides, this is America and monopolies are illegal. And Microsoft has never been proved of having a monopoly, so until MS is proved guilty in a court of law then they are innocent.
