I was really considering buying this TV, but I've heard it has problems with sound cut-out and screen-tearing. Those two things are putting me back on the fence again.

Yeah, Ive read the user opinions over at cnet there does seem to be a problem with this.

I have a 40ins sony bravia and have had no problems what so ever with it, therefore i would reccommend a sony. If it does break they will (read might)fix it.

Whichever 32" LCD TV you end up buying, I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you also spend about $150 for a good/basic surround sound system.. You don't wanna be playing your 360 on a nice HD TV with sound coming from the speakers on the TV :S its just awful really.... but $150 will get you a nice true digital/optical dolby digital 5.1 surround :D makes a BIG difference VS Tv mounted speakers... you gotta trust me on this!!!

Sharp Aquos 32" 1080p 3 HDMI inputs and multiple component inputs. Vyper Drive game mode, dvi computer input. $1299.99 at best buy. probably better on ebay or some other online retailer. The model is the Sharp GP1U, 32" 1080p.Best TV I've ever owned and I have owned a Sony Bravia.

I have a Westinghouse. It has lasted me like 3 years and I have never had a problem. My friend loved mine so much he bought it. They are the cheapest TV's, too. A 32" is only like $700-800 right now.

I have a SamsungLNT3241 i believe.

Good blacks, great great picture quality. I will admit it has some minor tearing sometimes, which can be annoying.

Ive only had it since June, so i will probably need to get it replaced. :/

But really, its a 8.5/10!

I don't know much about 32' tvs but i'll tell you the set up I have in my bedroom:

Vizio VX32L 32' 1080i/720p LCD HDTV sells for 500-600

Logitech Z-5500 Surround sound system, sells for 250-300

They're both cheap, but the quality is just plain awesome.

I have a Samsung LN 3251D. It's a bit older, but it looks absolutely amazing with deep blacks and very vibrant colors. I've seen my set for $800, and I'd be willing to bet you could find it for even less. Vizio is another option. They sell really cheaply for around 500-600 at Costco, and the quality is quite good for the price.

whatever set you pick up, make sure you have 2 HDMI ports, built in ATSC tuner ( for HD programming if you may get it in the near future) and (if you want to hook up your PC to it someday) a DVI or VGA port. Also for a 32", 720p is the perfect resolution, 1080p is not necessary on smaller sets, differences in 1080p and 720p are not as noticeable unless you plan on getting one of the bigger sets. One more thing to take note is response time (very important for gamers), i'd say look for a TV that has an 8ms or lower response time. As one previous poster also suggested, 5.1 surround is awesome. U may want to think about investing on some speakers/reciever/woofer etc. Unfortunately, that's all the advice I can give you since I've only purchased a 26" Vizio which is really awesome especially if you consider the price. Anyway, you should always look up reviews for electronics before you buy.

Hey guys. I recently picked up a 360 Elite and a 40" Sony Bravia KDL40S3000 and I noticed screen tearing right out of the box. The first place was the xbox dashboard panels as they move back and forth, then I noticed it while playing mass effect recently. Does anyone have any advice? I have the xbox set to 720p with evertything else default. Much appreciated.

I would also recommend the Westinghouse LCD. I got mine from Best Buy $799 in January/February and so far, it's been great.

I haven't seen ANY type of motion problems with LCD's in about 4 years. I use a Sony 26" Bravia, and a Sony 32" Bravia XBR. Both perform flawlessy for console games.
